A farm shop on the A379, just outside Kingsbridge

You'll find Springfield Farm Shop in East Charleton, on the A379 between Kingsbridge and Frogmore. If you're driving through the South Hams, it's an easy place to stop: pull in, take your time, and pick up pork, beef and vegetables from our own farm, just up the road.

A South Hams farm shop where you can take your time

We like to keep things unhurried. There's room to look around, browse the counter and ask questions, and nobody will hurry you along. We're always happy to talk you through what's on the counter, suggest a cut for Sunday lunch or explain how best to cook it. If you're used to busy aisles, you'll find this a gentler way to shop.

Know where your food comes from

Our pork and beef come from our own farm in East Prawle, a stone's throw away, and so do vegetables such as kale, cauliflower, swede, broccoli and Brussels sprouts. Because we farm it ourselves, we can tell you where it was raised or grown. Just ask at the counter.

From our farm to your table

A short journey makes for better food.

Most of what fills our counter comes from our own family farm, just up the road. Because it comes from our own farm up the road, it doesn't carry the cost of long-distance transport, so you get exceptional quality at a fair price.

And because it only travels a few miles, it reaches the shop fresh, with none of the supermarket food miles in between. Our family has farmed here for generations, with over 120 years of farming at East Prawle.

01

Reared and grown by us

Our cattle are reared outdoors on grass, supplemented with barley. Our lamb is outdoor-reared and our pork comes straight from the farm. In winter we grow cauliflower, cabbage and sprouts.

02

Fresh, not well-travelled

Our produce comes a few miles down the lane, not across the country, so it is fresh on the counter and full of flavour.

03

Fair prices, honestly

Quality produce at competitive prices has always been our aim. With no long-distance haulage to pay for, we can keep it that way.

Recipes & home cooking

Simple, proper meals from good ingredients.

Easy ideas for the produce on our counter, from a slow Sunday roast to a one-pan supper after a day on the beach.
